We're excited to announce that Canada is now available on Addressable, joining Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and Estonia as our fifth supported country — and our first in North America.
Canadian address data is sourced from the National Address Register (NAR), provided by Statistics Canada under the Statistics Canada Open Licence. The dataset covers addresses across all provinces and territories, including street numbers, streets, localities, provinces and postcodes.
Please note: the NAR dataset is not exhaustive. Census Sub Divisions covering over 99% of the national population have good address coverage, but the dataset systematically lacks data for Indigenous reserves, northern hamlets, and rural Saskatchewan municipalities — likely communities where provincial address registries don't have data to contribute to the NAR. Please evaluate the coverage for your use case before relying on it in production.
Like our other countries, Canadian address data supports both autocomplete and reverse geocoding queries. Use the country code ca in your API requests to search Canadian addresses.
The NAR is updated approximately every six months by Statistics Canada. Addressable uses the latest available release.
If you're on an Addressable Large plan, Canada is already included — no changes needed. If you're on a Small plan, you can select Canada as your country from your account page. Visit our API documentation for details on using the autocomplete and reverse geocoding endpoints.
